This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
My Gallery reflects photographs both given to me and taken myself. I've been taking pictures for 40 years. Yes, that means I'm old. And cranky sometimes too.
Introduction
Sat Feb 21, 2009, 2:15 PM
Photography for me begain in 1967, at the age of 11. The only reason I remember it now is because I have a picture of me at the coast holding my Kodak Brownie. Black and white film only making that crunching sound as I hand wound the roll of negatives after each shot.
From there it was the 110 Instamatic, then the Polaroid One Shot and waving those heavy wet prints in the air so they'd dry before I smeared them. In my twenties I was given a Canon 35mm autowind and would hear groans from family members at every occasion, "You're not taking pictures again, are you?"
It was also in that decade that I found the perfect resource for photographers - I went to work for Fotomat. An entire parking lot kiosk full of film of every speed, size and format, for every roll I developed, I received another roll of film for free. It was like heroin to a junkie.
What's most amazing is that for all of that feeding the need, I never took a class on photography, never professionally practiced the art. I have no idea what an F-stop is, nor a clue about shutter speeds.
Most recently, I've purchased a Canon Rebel xsi. It's way more camera than I know how to drive. With it, I'm forcing myself to learn. I've always been an ametuer who's developed a good eye for what pleases me. Perhaps now, I'll finally reach a professional level.
My mantra will always be: Just keep taking pictures.
